Minecraft Halloween update is out.

So I put on some dramatic music that I thought would go well with opening my first portal and stared at the swirling purple entryway until the track finished, at which point I walked in. Immediately after exiting the portal on the other side I take two steps forward and immediately fall down a hole.

I lived, but OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH THESE CREEPY SOUND EFFECTS ALL AROUND ME ITS COMING FROM THE WALLS THEY'RE PROBABLY GHASTS OH GOD THEY PROBABLY HAVE ME SURROUNDED HELP I'M GOING TO DIE HERE DON'T LET THEM GET ME I JUST GOT HERE I WANTED TO EXPLORE FOR A BIT AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH.

Edit: I'll be adding to this post as I progress further into hell here, so keep checking back here if you're interested in reading about my glorious trek through a brand new frontier me dying horribly at the tentacles of flying jellyfish monsters.

Bord

I was bored, so I felt like sticking an extra set of arms and weapons on one of my 1/144 HG Tieren Space Types and taking a few pictures.

These were taken with my iphone's camera, so the picture quality isn't all that great.

A fairly uneventful week as always.

Didn't do much during the past few days. I spent most of the time playing Left 4 Dead, modding the hell out of X3: Terran Conflict, slowly watching ZZ Gundam (Space Mayans? In my Gundam?) and butting heads with normalfags over the internet (don't fucking ask, seriously). Nothing to talk about really.

Something different maybe?

Lately, I've been getting bored of Minecraft. I think the sheer scale of Project Skywall burnt me out half way through it, so I'll probably take a break until the Halloween update comes out. For the time being, I'll probably just work on my backlog of anime and VNs, or I might pick up another huge timesink of a game, like

What the hell?: A bit of a rambling, not well thought out rant

So today I was at my crappy job (inb4 >job >/jp/) picking up after people at a supermarket and noticed pic related among other things in a cart full of damaged goods and displaced items. This is probably one of the strangest things I've seen packaged together in a while, think about it for a second; what exactly would require double As and glue? Something very, very niche that's for sure. That's the first thing that came to mind when I saw this odd combination, and to think someone out there gets paid good money to come up with this crap too.

Project Skywall: A most interesting development

So I was working on Project Skywall and this happened:

Another massive chunk error, yeah this map is pretty damn wierd. Makes me wonder how many of these I'll run into Basically, it's pretty much the same as The Rise, but bigger, and with more caves in the sides of it that zombies like to pour out of. There's also a few lava flows as well.

...I should really find something else to talk about on this blog aside from Minecraft.

Quick update: Anyone have some sand they don't need?

So I just did some math and realized that I need at least 1.5 MILLION blocks of glass to complete Project Skywall. Problem is, other than the fact that smelting all that sand would take forever and a day, my map currently only has 500k blocks of sand in it according to Cartograph. Well, I knew I was going to resort to using INVedit at somepoint during this project, but I didn't think that I'd have to rely so heavily on it.

Minecraft: The Rise: Project Skywall: The Movie: The Game

Oh damn, I haven't made a post in a couple of days...

Anyways, I started on the megaproject I mentioned in my previous Minecraft post a few nights ago, which I decided to dub "Project Skywall". So far, I've only put about an hour into it because I've been occupying my time with other things recently, and it's going to take several more hours to finish, but for the sake of actually working on a project in a video game until completion for once in my life I'll see it through to the end.

Currently, I've only dug out the centerpoint on the top of the Rise and used most of the cobblestone I had mined and stored away up to that point to build part of one of the skybridges, which really, in the context of this project, won't be skybridges at all, but more like some sort of support structure holding up the perimeter once I finish it.

Before I go any further, I need to do a bit more planning so I don't screw up colossally and not realize it until I'm close to finishing. With the sheer scale of this project, the potential for something going wrong because I screwed up while planning is pretty big.

Here's a screenshot of what I've got so far:
I don't think I'll extend the radius of the glass ceiling any further than that, once I'm done with this project I'm going to spend some time (and several torches/buckets of lava/both) getting rid of all the snow and ice, and I don't want to spend forever doing that because I made the ceiling too big. At this rate, it's already going to be gigantic.

Putting my Minecraft addiction on hold

I just found out that the full translation patch for Mirai no Kimi to, Subete no Uta ni (Miku VN) was released yesterday. Fucking. Glorious. Words can't describe how happy I am right now.

DISREGARD MY PREVIOUS POST, I SUCK DICKS.

My face
Good news everyone! It turns out I made a backup of The Rise not too long ago and tossed it into the depths of my external hard drive. Somehow I completely forgot about it, dunno how. Anyways, I decided to take a look at it and to my surprise and relief it's relatively up to date. The only things missing are the farms I was using to produce reeds (I need bookcases, bookcases everywhere) and a badly planned apartment complex. All together I think I only lost maybe three hours of work, and I've had worse things happen in the many games I've played throughout my life. I'm just glad that everything went better than expected.

RIP "The Rise" (for now, maybe)

Woke up early this morning shortly after 4 am. My sleep schedule is pretty much shot to hell now, partially because of my bizarre work schedule, the concept of work/life balance seems to be unheard of at Safeway.

With that aside, lets move on to the meat of this post.

A quick "OH GOD WHAT" update before I get some sleep.

Did a bit of f5ing on /m/ before bed and I found this:

OH
GOD
WHAT
WAT

Star Driver

So I just watched the first episode of Star Driver and I gotta say, it's pretty good. Better than I expected it to be.
Galactic Pretty Boy
Well I have to admit, I was hoping that there would be more mecha action. Instead, most of the pilot episode is just your typical anime school life deal, with all but about three to four minutes of mecha. The animation during the fight is pretty good though. Ah well, it's only the first episode out of twenty five, so I'm sure there will be plenty of fabulous mecha fighting.
DAT TAUBURN
Currently, the only subs out are [gg]'s, which surprisingly aren't too bad this time around, but expect a small dose of FABULOUS every so often. Of course, given the nature of subgroups, there'll be more groups picking this up. So if you absolutely hate [gg] and you want to watch this then you'll probably only have to wait a few days.

Final line: Since this series just started, I can't really form much of an opinion just yet. But I'd certainly say that it's worth a try. If you like it, great. If not, great. Opinions, etc.

Some minecraft screenshots

Here's a few screenshots of what I've built on my current Minecraft map so far:
A bridge going across the ice cave.

Fortress Schizophrenia

The entrance to base I've dug into the side of the huge cliff, I've come to refer to it as "The Rise".

Over 3900 hours in gimp.

Some sort of lounge area.
